Lee Haase, 76, was living alone in a small 12-foot-long camper with no water, plumbing or heat. He was living in extreme poverty after his home had been damaged by a storm five years ago, KARE reported.

His son had also died in a snowmobile accident.

"Lee has told me that he's pretty much given up on life," Nguyen said.

Recently, another driver found Haase cold on a fall day with no idea what to do when winter blows in.

Nguyen bought him a heater and started a Go Fund Me page where strangers donated food and money.

So far more than $30,000 has been donated.

Haase may also have a bigger place to call his own.

A construction company has reached out to Nguyen about building a small home by winter, KARE reported.
