"I've decided to retire & have my family. I know you guys are happy now," she wrote. "To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, X in the box- cuz ain't nobody checkin me. Love you for LIFE."

Her message to the Barbs is a nod to her feature on a version of Alicia Keys' 2012 single "Girl on Fire." The first part of her tweet seemed to be for her critics.
The announcement comes after Minaj has had a string of features on other artists' singles, including Chris Brown's "Wobble Up" and Megan Thee Stallion's "Hot Girl Summer." She released a solo single, "Megatron," in June, and released her last full length album, titled "Queen," last year.
Many fans haven't taken the news very well.

Others, however, were more understanding and optimistic.
I love you more. Thank you for 11 years of life. You’ll forever be my Queen. Stay beautiful and stay reigning. May God bless your beautiful family. Please don’t forget me because I can never forget you. I love you sm. #ReignOnOnika 💚👑😘

Just a few months ago, Minaj teased a fifth album, telling Jimmy Fallon on "The Tonight Show," "You're the first to find out ... of course there's a new album."
She shied away from giving a release date, but said she had a title in mind.
