A New York man is accused of fatally shooting a couple and their 9-year-old child and critically injuring a 3-year-old at a residence Sunday morning, authorities said.

Kaliek Goode-Ford, 30, of Newburgh, was arrested Monday and charged with three counts of second-degree murder, second-degree attempted murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

Goode-Ford was charged in the deaths of Newburgh residents Jimmy Crisantos, 30, Shatavia Crisantos, 26, and Giovanni Tambino, 9. the Poughkeepsie Journal reported. Tambino was Shatavia Crisantos' child from a previous relationship, the newspaper reported.

The 3-year-old boy, whose name was being withheld by authorities, is in critical but stable condition at an area hospital after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Times Herald-Record.

“A clear motive for the crime is still under investigation; however, a relationship between the suspect and victims has been established,” Newburgh Police Chief Donald B. Campbell said in a news release.

Town of Newburgh officials said Sunday that the shooting was targeted, according to the Journal.

In September 2016, Goode-Ford was charged with possessing a loaded gun, 100 baggies of heroin and over an ounce of crack cocaine after jumping out of a car during a traffic stop and being chased down by Newburgh police, according to the Times Herald-Record.
