According to a police report, a clerk at a Brandon Township BP station told authorities Edmonds bought a beer around 2:30 a.m. Thursday, opened it and climbed into his vehicle, WXYZ reported.
The truck was located near the gasoline pumps. According to the police report, Edmonds "accelerated at a high rate of speed in the parking lot," turned 180 degrees and struck a gas pump island before driving into the building, WXYZ reported.
Edmonds then took the license tag off his truck and walked away, an action that was caught on a surveillance camera, the Free Press reported. According to the police report, Edmonds told authorities he fled because he was scared, the newspaper reported.
