The 19-year-old man, who has not been identified, walked up to the stand around 4 p.m. and demanded cash, KTRK reported.
Police said an employee placed money on the counter and, when the suspect went to pick it up, he set down his gun, KTRK reported.
Another employee then grabbed the gun and shot the suspect in the face, KTRK reported.
Preliminary indications are that a fireworks stand employee managed to take possession of the would-be robber’s pistol and shot him with it. Investigation is ongoing. #hounews
