A Nevada man is offering $5,000 for the return of his missing pet tortoise, Bob.
Peter Grave has had Bob, an African spurred tortoise, for about six years, KLAS reported.
Grave moved two weeks ago, but before he could build Bob a new home in the backyard, Bob was stolen Sunday, KLAS reported.
“There’s no way that he can get out of the walls,” Grave told KLAS. “It’s all concrete. He couldn’t dig. So, somebody had taken him.”
The African spurred tortoise gets its name from the spurs on its hind legs. They can live up to 100 years, according to the San Diego Zoo.
Bob is somewhat of a local celebrity, attending many events and helping to raise money for charity groups, KLAS reported.
“I’m from England,” Grave told KLAS. “I have no family, no relatives, nobody here. He’s my little man.”
