The boys, ages 15 and 16, were arrested Monday and charged with three counts of aggravated assault and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm, WTVC reported. Their names are being withheld because they are juveniles, police said.

According to police, the incident happened at 6:30 p.m. at Greenway Farms, WRCB reported.

Chattanooga Police Department spokeswoman Elisa Myzal said the victims were physically threatened at gunpoint by two juveniles. They fled, along with a third juvenile who did not brandish a weapon, before police arrived at the scene, the Times Free Press reported.

Emily Campbell, 18, who said she witnessed the incident and filmed it, said the two teens were pointing their guns, the newspaper reported.

"We were just staring because they looked like little tiny kids," Campbell told the Times Free Press. "They pulled out guns, so we were backing up, backing up, and freaking out."

In a news release posted to Facebook, Chattanooga Police Department officials said "a widely shared photo" of the juveniles posted on social media resulted in tips that allowed authorities to identify and locate the boys.

"I want to thank the many community members who reached out to police so we could identify, investigate, and arrest these individuals," Chattanooga police Chief David Roddy said. "We must continue working together to ensure our city is a safer city."
