Family Dollar robber steals $1,892, drops $1,560 in snow, police said

Police are looking for an armed robber who they said left an Ohio Family Dollar store with $1,892, but got away with only $332.

Authorities said the robbery happened Tuesday night as the store manager and an employee were counting money, WFMJ reported.

They said the unidentified man told them not to turn around or he would “blast them.”

The alleged robber scooped up $1,892 and ran from the store, but police found $1,560 in the snow as they searched for the man, according to WFMJ.

The store manager told police that $332 was still missing after the search. He also said that the alleged armed robber must have been hiding in the store because the doors to the business had been locked when the store closed for the night.

Police said some of the money had wet blood on it, and they kept $50 as evidence. They are also reviewing surveillance footage from the store, WFMJ reported.
