The Sun-Times reported that Jake Lee, 27, is alleged to have been a passenger in Gibson's car. Lee is alleged to have shot Gibson, who was driving the car, in what prosecutors said was a drive-by gone bad. Cook County prosecutors said Lee has been charged with aggravated battery with a firearm. Chicago Police Department records show he has also been charged with criminal trespass to vehicles and murder.

Prosecutors said Lee was in the front passenger seat of Gibson's car at 5:40 a.m. Sunday. Prosecutors said Gibson pulled alongside a white SUV waiting to make a left turn and Lee started firing a .40-caliber handgun from the passenger seat and accidentally shot Gibson in the head, according to an earlier Sun-Times report.

Lee was denied bail during a hearing on Tuesday.
