When asked three different times on Thursday if Saturday’s game against the Tennessee Titans would be his last, Brady remained vague with every response.
“I’m not much for nostalgia, I’m just focused on what I need to do," said Brady in a news conference. "I hadn’t thought about those things and I wouldn’t be thinking about those things anyway. I just think for all of us it’s important not to take anything for granted.”
Truthfully, fans are all over the place with this one, but just the thought of the upcoming wild card game be the last chance to see Brady play is too much to handle for the vast majority of New England.
"I grew up in the Tom Brady era so I've been spoiled," said David Benjamin, of Norwood.
Patriots fans know that it’s not a relationship that will last forever, but just how much time they’ve got left with the GOAT is the big question.
The 42-year-old player’s contract with the Patriots is complicated, but he has said that after this season he will be eligible to become a free agent.
“I think it’s sad for the NFL if it is it’s the end of the era if it is, but I think he’ll be back for one more year I think because he has an ego in a good way but he doesn’t like to talk about them right now," said Bobby Mix. "I think he wants to prove something and he’ll come back another year.”
Retirement, perhaps, is a choice many fans see Brady making - but say they can’t imagine him wearing another team’s uniform, ever.
"There's no chance, he won't leave, it's kind of like the David Ortiz of the Patriots, he won't leave," said Benjamin.
