The outbreak has prompted a recall of berries sold between Sept. 9 and Sept. 30 at Fresh Thyme stores in 11 states including Ohio, Pennsylvania and Missouri, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Hepatitis A is a contagious virus that affects the liver and can range in severity from a few weeks to several months, officials said.
Earlier this week, frozen raspberries and mixed berries were recalled from Aldi grocery stores for hepatitis A contamination.
