Michigan’s first indoor dog park is offering more than just a place for four-legged animals to stretch their legs.

The Pack Indoor Dog Park in Grand Rapids, set to open this summer, will also allow dog owners to bend their elbows.

Raechel Macqueen, the park's co-owner, said the 10,000-square-foot park will include a seating area for people to enjoy food, beer and wine, the Detroit Free Press reported.

Macqueen said the idea for an indoor park came last April, when she had difficulty navigating her baby’s stroller at an outdoor dog park that was situated on rough terrain, the newspaper reported.

"And I thought, 'Wouldn't it be so nice if there was somewhere that we could take our dog in Michigan that would be indoors and I could sit with her in one area and my husband could play with our dog in another area so he could get some exercise and attention?'" Macqueen told the Free Press.

The park will offer daycare service for $30 per day, WXYZ reported. An annual membership will cost $200, while a five-visit punch card will cost $30, the television station reported.

Bars will overlook the dogs' play area, with televisions, along with a boutique shop, WOOD-TV reported. There also will be a workspace with Wi-Fi available, the television station reported.

Macqueen got backing from her mother, Joella Wrona, who decided to partner in the project, the Free Press reported.

"It’s been really exciting, especially as a mom, seeing my daughter and just seeing all of her talents and just seeing them in action,” Wrona told the newspaper. “We are having a really good time working together. We think alike on a lot of things and have differences in opinion on others. It’s really been a lot of fun working together.”

Macqueen believes that if the indoor park is successful in Grand Rapids, it will start a trend.

“I have a feeling after this there will be more popping up throughout the state,” Macqueen told the Free Press.
