According to a probable cause affidavit, a Hot Springs, Arkansas, police officer pulled over a car pulling out of a parking lot with no headlights, smelled marijuana upon approaching the vehicle and discovered the vehicle’s driver, Elizabeth Marie Catlett, “moving about the vehicle in a quick, nervous manner.”

Following a thorough search of the vehicle, both Catlett, 29, and her brother, 33-year-old Don Russell Furr were arrested. Furr was Catlett's passenger, the newspaper reported.

KATV reported that when Catlett, 29, was read her Miranda rights, she told police that if she "pops hot" it was because her brother fed her a sandwich that contained methamphetamine. She also told police Furr often taints her food and beverages with illegal substances, and she believed he put meth in her drink earlier that evening, the affidavit states.

Catlett and Furr each face charges of possession of methamphetamine or cocaine with purpose to deliver as well as possession of drug paraphernalia. Catlett also faces additional charges of driving while intoxicated and refusal to submit to a chemical test, KATV reported.
