According to CNN and The New York Times, the move came hours after Poland's Auschwitz Memorial tweeted screenshots of Amazon listings for ornaments and a bottle opener bearing photos of the former Nazi death camp.

"Selling 'Christmas ornaments' with images of Auschwitz does not seem appropriate," the memorial wrote Sunday morning. "Auschwitz on a bottle opener is rather disturbing and disrespectful. We ask @amazon to remove the items of those suppliers."

On Sunday afternoon, the memorial also flagged an Auschwitz-themed mouse pad and another ornament featuring an image of "a freight car used for deporting Jews for extermination."

"Sadly, it is not over yet @amazon," the tweet read.

The items, all sold by third parties, were later removed, CNN and the Times reported. In a statement, Amazon confirmed that it had taken down the items.

"All sellers must follow our selling guidelines, and those who do not will be subject to action, including potential removal of their account," the statement read, according to CNN.
