Out of politics? No chance. Boehner to campaign for House Republicans

Former House Speaker John Boehner, R-West Chester, will campaign for House Republicans across the country in August, according to a report by CNN which was confirmed by a Boehner spokesman.

Boehner plans to rent a motor coach for his campaign trip. Polls show Democrats could take control of the House in November for the first time since 2010.

Boehner retired from the House in 2015 following a revolt from conservative House Republicans such as Rep. Jim Jordan of Urbana.

That division may still exist. In an interview with Politico last October, Boehner called Jordan a "legislative terrorist," prompting Jordan to say he felt sorry for the former House speaker.

“It sounds like he’s kind of bitter and kind of angry and I feel bad for anyone who develops that kind of attitude,” Jordan told the Dayton Daily News at the time.
