You gouda brie kidding me! Check out this local cheese-themed 5K race

Just in time for National Cheese Day, a local restaurant is hosting a cheese-themed 5K race this weekend.

Young’s Jersey Dairy is hosting the 6th annual Cheddar Challenge 5K on Saturday at 9 a.m. The 5K takes runners through a picturesque run on the dairy farm. Runners will enjoy milkshakes and farmstead cheese samples at the finish line.

Runners receive a t-shirt, finisher’s medal, running bib with chip timing, free race photos and access to the Farmstead Cheese event at the farm. The event has tons of cheese samples and activities all morning long, and a free shuttle will run to the Yellow Springs Street Fair.

The race is limited to 1,000 participants this year.

The Farmstead Cheese event will have all kinds of cheese available including: Colby, Jersey Girl Cheddar, Red Barn Cheddar, Toreador Aged Cheddar, Baby Swiss, Bourbon Oak Barrel Smoked Aged Cheddar, Pepperjack, Gouda, and Natural Wood Smoked Cheddar.

Cheddar curds available include: White Cheddar Curds, Garlic Cheddar Curds, Italian Cheddar Curds, Cheddar Ranch Curds, Sweet Basil Garlic Curds and Dill Cheddar Curds.
