Don’t miss the MayFair plant sale, the annual pilgrimage for green thumbs

Ready to get digging in the soil? This weekend the 46th annual MayFair Plant sale, a fundraiser for the Wegerzyn Gardens Foundation, will be held at the park.

The plant sale will feature large varieties of vegetables, perennials, annuals, shrubs, vines as well as garden art and gifts.

While there, don’t miss out on a stroll through the gardens. Dazzling daffodils, fiery red tulips and pink and white magnolia blossoms are among the colors of the rainbow on display.

The 88-acre park features formal gardens, paths for strolling through woodlands and a children’s discovery garden.

Proceeds from the  plant sale go to the Wegerzyn Gardens Foundation to support special projects and programs at the metroPark.

The sale will take place on Saturday, May 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, May 5 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A members-only preview sale will be held on Friday evening.

The event is held in the Wegerzyn Gardens MetroPark auditorium at 1301 E. Siebenthaler Ave. in Dayton.
