Wheelchair basketball game raises funds for disabled athletes

SPRINGFIELD — Donations raised at a wheelchair basketball game in Enon Saturday will help purchase specialized wheelchairs for athletes with disabilities.

The game will be at noon Saturday, April 16, at Indian Valley Middle School, 510 Enon-Xenia Road in Enon.

It pits members of the Miami Valley Association of Disabled Athletes against staff from Greenon schools, the Enon Police Department and the Enon/Mad River Fire Department.

Spectators will be asked for a donation at the door with a 50/50 raffle at half time.

In addition to raising money for sport-adapted wheelchairs, organizers say they aim to raise awareness of sports available for individuals in wheelchairs.
