What’s the weather forecast for shopping this last weekend before Christmas?

If you are hitting the stores on this last full weekend before the stores close for Christmas Eve, the weather looks to be improving, at least as far as temperatures are concerned, Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Eric Elwell said Friday evening.

The warmer weather is expected to arrive beginning Saturday.

High temperatures are expected to push above average, into the lower to middle 40s through the weekend.

"The best day to be out and about will be Saturday," Elwell said. "It should be mostly sunny and temperatures will be warmer than we've been in about 10 days."

Sunday though, you may have to break out an umbrella. Showers are expected to develop during the afternoon and continue into Sunday evening.

The rain will hold temperatures down a few degrees, but should still reach the lower 40s.

"At least this time, it will be rain as opposed to snow," Elwell said.
