Springfield-to-Xenia police pursuit ends with 2 in custody


UPDATE @ 3:07 a.m: One suspect in police custody following a pursuit from Springfield to Xenia late Tuesday night was confirmed to have a warrant out for his arrest.

According to Springfield Police, Kyle Warner, 33, had a warrant out for his arrest due to aggravated robbery.

He is currently at Clark County Jail on other charges consisting of failure to comply and theft.

INITIAL REPORT

Two males are in custody following a police pursuit from Springfield to Xenia that police estimate reached speeds of 110 mph. 

A Springfield police officer attempted to stop a car at South Yellow Springs Street and Innisfallen Avenue about 9:20 p.m. because one of two males in the car was believed to be wanted on for aggravated robbery, Lt. Williams said.

The pursuit began on South Yellow Springs Street, continued to U.S. 68 through some back roads before returning to U.S. 68. The car was stopped about 10 p.m., with the assistance of Greene County sheriff's deputies, north of Xenia on U.S. 68 at Old Springfield Pike, the lieutenant said. 

There were no injuries. Both males are being brought back to Springfield, the lieutenant said, where investigators will work to confirm whether either male is the one sought on the warrant.
