2 tornadoes hit Clark County, National Weather Service investigators confirm

UPDATE @ 9:48 p.m.: All other damage in Greene and Clark counties has been deemed as non-tornadic, National Weather Service investigators have determined.

UPDATE @ 6:30 p.m.:

The National Weather Service now has confirmed that two tornadoes hit Clark County, the second one a mile southwest of South Vienna.

This tornado remained over open fields, caused no damage and is based on video and eyewitness accounts, the weather service investigators said in a statement. It is being rated EF-Unknown.

UPDATE @ 4:55 p.m.: 

The National Weather Service confirmed a tornado hit South Charleston in Clark County, according to preliminary survey results.

The tornado has been categorized as an EF0, the weakest, according to the Enhanced Fujita Scale.

Storm survey results for Greene County have not yet been released.

INITIAL REPORT

The National Weather Service has announced it will survey storm damage in Clark and Greene counties.

The survey will include areas damaged in Yellow Springs and South Vienna, the weather service announced.

A final assessment of the survey is expected to be released later this evening.

In addition to Greene and Clark counties, the weather service will also survey several areas outside the Miami Valley, including Union County, Ohio, and areas in Kentucky and Indiana.
