Sunday, May 30

Tremont City

9 a.m.: Parade line-up will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Owners Drive. Services will be held at the cemetery following the parade. Clark County Sheriff Gene A. Kelly will speak.

Terre Haute

2 p.m.: Memorial Day parade and services sponsored by Storms Creek Council No. 108. The master of ceremonies will be the Rev. Frank Kampel. The speaker will be state Rep. John P. Adams.

Enon

2 p.m.:

Enon VFW Post 8437 Memorial Day Parade staging for participants will be at 1 p.m. The parade will start at Enon Elementary School and end at the Enon Cemetery where services will be held.

Monday

Springfield

7:30 a.m.

: If you are going to participate in the Springfield Memorial Day Parade, stop by Faith United Methodist Church, 102 W. High St., for free apples, bottled water and coffee.

9 a.m.: Parade begins at West High Street and Fountain Avenue.

South Charleston

9:30 a.m.:

Parade to Greenlawn Cemetery will begin at Southeastern High School. Guest speaker will be RDML James P. Wisecup. There also will be a 10:30 a.m. parade to St. Charles Borromeo cemetery. The guest speaker will be John Herzog.

Christiansburg

11:30 a.m.:

Parade line-up will be at Christiansburg Park at 11 a.m. Services will be held at Smith Cemetery following the parade. The speaker will be Champaign County Commissioner Max M. Coates.

Mechanicsburg

1 p.m.:

Parade line-up will be at 12:30 p.m. on Mill Street. A ceremony at Maple Grove Cemetery will follow the parade. John Detrick, Clark County commissioner, will speak.

St. Paris

1 p.m.:

The St. Paris Memorial Day Celebration will begin at 1 p.m. at the village park. After an invocation, Mayor Joe Braden will welcome guests, and there will be a performance by the Graham High School Marching Band. All military personnel will walk with the public and the band to the village cemetery. Sam Powell, a veteran who just finished a tour of duty overseas, will speak to the crowd.

Pools’ opening hours

Wendell Stokes Municipal Pool, Urbana:

10 a.m. Saturday; 1 p.m. Sunday; and noon Monday. Cost is $4.

Splash Zone Family Aquatic Center: Noon to 7 p.m. Saturday through Monday. Opens daily June 5. Cost is $7 adults, $4.50 for children ages 3-17.

The New Carlisle Pool: Noon to 8 p.m. Saturday; 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday; and noon to 8 p.m. Monday. Cost is $6 adults, $4 students and seniors.
