2 injured, 1 flown by medical helicopter after head-on crash in Springfield

UPDATE @ 10:10 a.m.: 

At least two people were injured following a head-on crash on North Limestone Street in Springfield Wednesday morning, according to officials.

The crash was reported around 8:25 a.m. in the 800 block of North Limestone Street, near Cliff Park High School.

The driver of the car, who was not identified, was taken by a CareFlight medical helicopter to an area hospital. Their condition was not immediately released.

The driver of the pickup truck was also injured and transported by ground ambulance to an area hospital. Their condition was also not released.

A 9-year-old was also in the pickup truck but it was unknown if the child was injured, according to officials.

The cause of the crash and potential factors were not released.
