Jewelry, money stolen in armed robbery at Springfield jeweler

UPDATE @11:34 a.m. 2/7/19: Jewelry, money and business keys were taken during a robbery at Kay Jewelers, according to Springfield police.

Four masked and armed men robbed the store just after 9 p.m. Wednesday and fled on foot.

UPDATE @ 10:40 p.m. 2/6/19: Police are looking for four masked and armed suspects in the robbery of the Kay Jewelers store, a Springfield police sergeant said.

Police are still working to determine what was taken, she said.

According to the preliminary investigation, the robbery occurred as the store was closing at 9 p.m. Police got the call at 9:04 p.m., she said.

Police do have surveillance video and investigators are reviewing it, she said.

Kay Jewelers, 1654 Bechtle Ave., has been robbed and Springfield police are investigating.

Police were dispatched just after 9 p.m. on a report of a robbery at the location.
