Fourth of July forecast: Hot and humid trend continues; when to expect rain showers

The hot and humid trend will linger throughout the work week and into the Fourth of July.

If you have plans for a cookout or to attend fireworks, you'll want to keep an eye on the WHIO radar. Scattered storms are expected to develop in the afternoon and into the evening hours on the Fourth, said Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Jesse Maag.

It's possible of few stray storms could survive into the overnight hours as well. High temperatures will climb into the upper 80s with a heat index near 90 at the warmest part of the day.

Thankfully, a good amount of cloud coverage should help things feel a bit cooler as well.
