Rescue crews were called twice Saturday to the Mad River south of Ohio 55 after canoes capsized.
In both cases there were no injuries and the boaters were able to rescue themselves from the water, said German Twp. Fire Chief Tim Holman, whose Clark County department serves that portion of Champaign County.
Just south of Ohio 55 there is a tree down in the river, and the currents are causing the canoes to flip, he said.
