A caller to 9-1-1 told an emergency dispatcher her son stabbed the man after the man, she said, argued with her son and entered her house. She said the man lives across the street from her.

"The guy at (address of house on Forest Avenue) busted up into my house, hit my son and knocked him down, and my son stabbed him," the woman told the emergency operator.

Her son, she told the operator, thinks he stabbed the man in the chest.

"He keeps jumping the blacks around here," she said, "calling them n-----. He got into it with my son. They argued. He came over here and hit my son outside.

"My son walked off from it. But then he [the man] walked up in my house," the woman said.
