Coronavirus: Clark, Champaign school district cases drop below 40

Nine Clark County and two Champaign County school districts reported new cases of COVID-19, according to the Ohio Department of Health’s COVID-19 school district dashboard’s latest update.

In total, 38 students and staff cases were reported between the two counties on Thursday, a decrease from the total of 83 cases from two weeks ago that was recorded from the week of Dec. 15-21.

The school districts that reported student and staff cases are as follow:

Clark-Shawnee: three students, one staff

Emmanuel Christian Academy: three students

Global Impact STEM Academy: one student

Graham: two students, one staff

Greenon: two students, two staff

Northeastern: six students, one staff

Northwestern: one student

Springfield: one student, four staff

Springfield CTC: one student, one staff

Tecumseh: two students, two staff

Urbana: four students

Cases reported on the dashboard lag one week, meaning cases reported on Thursday were from the week of Dec. 29-Jan. 4.

The dashboard was not updated for the week of Dec. 22-28.

The dashboard tracks cases of COVID-19 in all public and private K-12 schools across the state. Data displayed on the board includes all student and staff cases broken into two categories: new and cumulative. The board is updated every Thursday.
