The pantry will be available from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 2 and 16, and will continue every other Tuesday through May.
“Clark State is pleased to partner with Second Harvest Food Bank to provide a consistent distribution location for our community members,” said Nina Wiley, dean of student engagement and support services. “Food insecurity is a growing challenge, and we are committed to addressing the needs of individuals and families in our community.”
The food bank served 4,777 individuals from 1,931 households from October 2020 through January 2021 at Clark State, the release stated.
Tyra Jackson, executive director for Second Harvest Food Bank, said that having a location such as Clark State that people can depend on is important, and she expects the numbers to remain high for the next 12-18 months.

The Dayton Foodbank mobile pantry will be be available at Clark State’s Greene location, 3775 Pentagon Park Blvd. in Beavercreek, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month also through May.
The pantry distributed 87,196 pounds of food to 675 households in 2020, according to Natalie Johnson, associate dean of Clark State College Greene County locations.
“It has been a challenging time for our community,” Johnson said. “We are grateful for the partnerships with our local food panty to provide healthy food for our students and the families in our community.”
Remaining dates at Clark State’s Beavercreek location include Feb. 10, March 10, April 14 and May 12, the release stated.
