Flooding is possible Thursday when the remnants of Hurricane Zeta merge with another system, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Today will be cloudy and chilly, with a slight chance of rain all day, according to the NWS in Wilmington. Highs will only reach up to around 50 degrees during the day, then fall to around 39 degrees overnight.

Wednesday will be partly sunny and warmer, with highs rising up to around 60 degrees.

After night falls, though, clouds will begin to gather again and we will see a chance of showers starting at around 10 p.m. as the remnants of Hurricane Zeta combine with a low-pressure system, according to the NWS.

Rain chances will rise throughout the night, making showers likely starting a few hours before dawn on Thursday. Temperatures Wednesday night will drop to around 46 degrees.

Thursday will be a wet day, with showers all through the day and lingering into the night before trailing off in the early hours of Friday.

Thursday’s showers will bring significant rainfall, with the NWS warning about a chance of flooding, with one to two inches of rain an early prediction.

Temperatures on Thursday are expected to be in the mid-50s, before falling to around 40 degrees overnight.

Sunshine and highs in the low to mid 50s are predicted for Friday and Saturday.
