Zatarain's meal mixes

Tester Mary Ellington, who happens to be a vegetarian, tried out Zatarain's meal mixes and side dishes. She liked most of the items, only noting at times that sometimes the product had too much salt or pepper.

WHAT IS IT? Zatarain's

WHAT IT'S SUPPOSED TO DO: Create side dishes and meals with a New Orleans style flavor.

HOW MUCH IT COSTS: Range of $2.19 to $3.79.

DID IT WORK? Two of my friends were over and also tasted the food. Both of them liked all the products.

WHAT DID YOU LIKE ABOUT IT? The creole mustard ($3.79) had a very interesting taste and I do not eat much mustard. The gumbo file ($2.29) did enhance the taste of gumbo. I may use this on some of the soups that I eat. I added vegetarian food start crumbles to the Jambalaya Mix ($2.19). I liked the taste of the product.

WHAT DID YOU DISLIKE ABOUT IT? Dirty Rice Mix ($2.19) had too much pepper.

IS IT WORTH THE MONEY? Yes, in some cases it is very reasonable in comparison to other products.

WOULD YOU BUY IT? Yes

WOULD YOU RECOMMEND IT? Yes
