Speak Up for Oct. 7 - I will pray for the zealot’s breast cancer, as I really do not like illnesses for anyone.

Re Sept. 27 Speak Up comment: It is understandable that the woman with breast cancer is angry. No one should suffer from this disease. However, people do, and they are not just people with good health care. In addition, not all people without good health care are lazy good-for-nothings. Many have lost their jobs or are self-employed and find quality health care unaffordable. Some have health care, but their insurance company would rather find a way to deny than to pay. This woman should be thankful she has health care and her condition has not drained her bank account. Other women in her shoes may not be able to say the same.

I will pray for the zealot's breast cancer, as I really do not like illnesses for anyone. My problem with the zealots is that they disrupt town halls, refusing to let the moderator talk, figuring if they yell loud enough, they can drown out the other voices, such as mine, that do not agree with them.

The current U.S. health system is rated 37th best in the world by the WHO. This hardly seems like a system that doesn't need to be fixed. The government can run things efficiently. The only winners with your side are the insurance companies that control what care you can get and where.

As one of the anti-health care reform protesters in front of Rep. Steve Austria's office, I can assure you that Austria had nothing to do with it. SEIU did, however, organize the folks from Beavercreek who "staged" a protest one hour later.
