A few reasons to pop on over to the Beavercreek Popcorn Festival this weekend

Last year’s Beavercreek Popcorn Festival was one of many festivals last year canceled due to weather the weekend following Labor Day.

That’s all the more reason to pop in for some popcorn this year.

Take your love of popcorn beyond the movie theater and join in the celebration that is the annual Beavercreek Popcorn Festival. The festival, now in its 33rd year, takes place Sept. 7-8.

If you’re one of those people who takes a whole handful of popcorn and attempts to shove it all into your mouth at once, then this festival is most definitely for you.

Here are some of the tasty treats and fun to expect at this year’s Beavercreek Popcorn Festival.

Flavored Popcorn

Flavored popcorn is a staple of the Beavercreek Popcorn Festival.

Sure, there’s caramel and cheddar and gourmet popcorn balls. And microwave popcorn and bulk popcorn to take home.

Through the years, the festival has been known to have some unique flavors — even Jell-O flavored popcorn.

Beyond the unusual, there’s also gourmet popcorn. How about some popcorn coated with white or dark chocolate? Add some nuts, coconut or other dried fruits and you have a tasty treat that’s truly decadent.

Kettle Corn

Kettle corn is just the perfect combination of sweet-and-salty, and the vendors at Beavercreek Popcorn Festival know how to do it justice. Whether you’re a traditionalist or maybe a little more adventurous, there is something for you.

Unexpected Popcorn

Here’s where things get really weird, in the best way possible. It wouldn’t be a popcorn festival if they weren’t putting popcorn on everything.

The popcorn theme has led to some pretty unique creations in previous years. The festival has been known to have cheesy popcorn pizza, popcorn ice cream and even popcorn burgers in past years.

Food Trucks and Vendors

The Beavercreek Popcorn Festival recently started allowing food trucks to participate in their event, and boy, are we glad they did. Here's a complete list of vendors. There will be more than 200 booths with festival foods, treats, crafts and more.
