"Dr. Grandin is one of the most accomplished and well-known adults with autism in the country," Michael Carter, Sinclair's chief diversity officer, said in a statement. "We are extremely honored to have her speak at Sinclair College. Her story is truly amazing and we invite everyone in the community to come out to this event."
The event is free and open to the public.

Grandin is credited with revolutionizing practices for the humane treatment of livestock animals. She was the subject of the 2010 movie "Temple Grandin" starring Claire Danes.
She did not talk until she was 3 years old, but now Grandin is a sought-after speaker on topics related to autism and animal behavior.
Her talk Thursday will center around educating students who have different kinds of minds.
