SPRINGFIELD — There’s BeBe and then there’s Bebo.

All Christian music needs now is someone named Bobo.

But in all seriousness, Bebo Norman has attracted a legion of fans since his debut back in the mid-’90s.

The singer-songwriter will be in concert Saturday night at Kuss Auditorium with the Robbie Seay Band, an alternative worship band that debuted in 2005 on the venerable Sparrow Records label.

Tickets for the show, presented by The Nehemiah Foundation and Clark State Community College, are just $10.

At that price, who cares who shows up — Bebo, BeBe or Bobo.

And, no, just to be clear, BeBe Winans is not coming to town. Nor is anyone named Bobo.

Just Bebo.

Norman — whose acoustic-pop sound could be likened to John Mayer’s — has had quite the success story, and is quite possibly the envy of anyone who ever picked up a guitar and tried to make money at it.

Back in 1996, he sold 50,000 self-pressed copies of his first album, “Fabric of Verse,” all on his own, at shows and online.

That, of course, got somebody’s attention — and soon enough, he was making music for a subsidiary of Sony Music.

With “Big Blue Sky,” he had the No. 1 Christian album of 2001. His 2002 album, “Myself When I Am Real,” earned seven Dove Award nominations.

He released his seventh album, “Ocean,” in September.
