Classic Nintendo system sells out quickly in Springfield

Gamers rejoiced today at Nintendo released its Classic NES gaming system this morning.

Gaming enthusiasts have been anticipating the release of the gaming system since it was announced back in July.

Nintendo ran a limited release, allotting stores a select amount of units to be sold, with no pre-order options.

“Each of the GameStop stores allotment was based on demand,” said Jackie Smith, GameStop’s Public Relations Manager.

At the GameStop locations in Springfield, people waiting outside for the store’s opening as each store was limited to only 6 units. Each store sold out in less than 5 minutes.

Local gaming stores are not carrying the system due to cost.

Online giant Amazon will release its limited units at 2 p.m. PST today.

No announcement has been made as to when a wider release will happen.
