Jradi was a Hertz rental car employee who was killed after a stray bullet hit him, The Blast reported. The stray bullet came from people in YoungBoy's camp, who all legally had weapons and returned fire, claiming self-defense, The Miami Herald reported.
According to The Herald, four other people were injured in the shooting, including YoungBoy's girlfriend, Kay Marie; a Texas man; his girlfriend and her 5-year-old son.
"He was the victim of an assassination attempt," the rapper's defense lawyer, James Manasseh, told The Herald, adding that his client wants to help the family of the victim.
“He told me, ‘I wish they would have gotten me, not him,’” Manasseh said.
Miami-Dade police said the rapper's entourage will not be charged because they shot back in self-defense, The Advocate reported.
YoungBoy is currently on probation stemming from his guilty plea to aggravated assault with a firearm from a November 2016 shooting in Baton Rogue, Louisiana.
The Advocate reported Friday that, during a review of YougBoy's probation, a Louisiana judge ordered the rapper behind bars until at least June 21. Manasseh told TMZ YoungBoy was taken into custody because of a social media post he made. According to the judge, a video posted online shows the rapper "talking trash and smack" after the Miami shooting. That post violated a condition of his probation that says he should refrain from all social media activity.
