One of the hottest Christian rock tours is on the move down to Springfield.

High Street Nazarene Church, which has established itself as the local hotspot for contemporary Christian concerts, will host 7eventh Time Down’s God Is on the Move Spring Tour.

The concert, which will also feature longtime Christian rockers Audio Adrenaline and three special guest artists, will be 6 p.m. Saturday, April 8.

Richie Griffith, High Street’s Family Life Pastor, said this tour is the highest-profile such concert the church has gotten yet and probably the biggest Christian act in Springfield since the Newsboys show several years ago.

“We’ve really stepped it up a notch with this one,” said Griffith. “This is a big tour to be bringing to this church.”

Griffith claims the band’s management reached out to him, as he’d worked with friends of the band.

What’s more, 7eventh Time Down and the others are performing for roughly half their normal ticket price, $12 in advance, Griffith said.

7eventh Time Down has had several hits off the “God Is on the Move” album, including the title track, and hit with “Alive in You,” from its first album. The group has a versatile sound, from Southern rock to hard rock and even bluegrass.

Audio Adrenaline has been performing since the 1980s with various incarnations and earned multiple Grammy and Dove Awards.

Other guest performers include Natasha Owens, Greg Sykes and Austin French, all up-and-coming artists.

Griffith said having this event isn’t about making money and High Street Nazarene will be fine with breaking even and any extra proceeds will go toward various causes.

“The bands understand what we’re doing, and that’s why they are working with us,” he said. “We want to give people a different way to hang out at an affordable price. It can be enjoyed by children and everybody.”

Advance tickets will be sold at the church office during business hours or on iTickets.com. Tickets will cost $18 at the door.

VIP tickets cost $35 and include early admission, priority seating and a chance to meet the performers.

Griffith said the annual Salvation Fest concert, which is normally this time of year, will occur on Sept. 16 at High Street Nazarene. Artists will be announced soon.
