Hobby Lobby announces pay raises

Employees of area Hobby Lobby locations in Hamilton, Huber Heights, Miamisburg and Springfield could receive pay raises for the fourth year in a row, the company announced Monday.

Oklahoma City-based Hobby Lobby Stores Inc. announced a minimum wage increase to $13 per hour for full-time hourly employees and a minimum wage increase for all part-time employees to $9 per hour. It is effective immediately, according to Hobby Lobby.

The increases in minimum pay will affect more than 15,300 employees nationwide. Hobby Lobby has more than 500 arts and crafts stores in 41 states.

The company’s prior minimum pay was $12 per hour.

“We are very fortunate to be able to increase the minimum pay for our hourly employees for the fourth year in a row,” said CEO David Green in a statement with the release. “Our company emphasizes strong corporate values based on Biblical principles, including integrity and service to others, and our employees embody those values and deserve to be rewarded for their efforts on the job and in the community.”
