Sexton was a second-team All-Horizon League selection as a junior this spring, going 8-2 with a 2.78 ERA. Two of the left-hander’s victories came against nationally ranked Clemson and South Carolina.
Sexton led the HL in batters struck out looking (29), was tied for second in wins, third in ERA, fifth in opponent batting average (.237) and sixth innings pitched (90.2).
His older brother Robby, who also played at WSU, was a 14th round draft pick of the Boston Red Sox in 2016 and currently is pitching for the Triple-A Greenville Drive.
