Ray Loeser hired as Wright State softball coach

Ray Loeser is the new softball coach at Wright State.

The school announced the hiring of the Mississippi State graduate this week.

He comes from the University of Charleston, where he led the Golden Eagles to a school-record 50 wins last season. They advanced to the College World Series in Division II.

His teams went 184-84 during five seasons at UC.

“As for now, WSU has a solid nucleus that competes year in and year out for the top spot in the Horizon League,” Loeser said in a statement. “I have seen the roster that returns from the conference tournament championship game and I am anxious and excited to get on the field. I look forward to continuing to build their success.”

Loeser has also coached at Arkansas Tech and St. Petersburg (Fla.) College as well as his alma mater.
