Cincinnati Reds: Is Joey Votto a Hall of Famer yet?

Ten seasons into his Major League Baseball career, Joey Votto has established himself as one of the best Cincinnati Reds in history.

But will he make the national hall of fame?

Fangraphs recently included Votto in a look at current players who might be able to play their way to HOF status, and the conclusion was he has a lot of work to do.

In short, the site concluded the 32-year-old needs to play another five seasons with one of those being on par with his “first prime” of 2010-13, three more similar to last season and another where he is at least an above-average MLB first baseman.

The story also mentions Scott Rolen, who played the last 3 ½ years of his career with the Reds, as “having a better case than one might think” but with no numbers for context.

He scored a 99 on Baseball Reference's "Hall of Fame Monitor" with 100 representing a likely inductee.
