Springfield police were called to Bunch's home on a report of someone with a gun that shot and killed a dog.
Once on scene, officers got too many conflicting reports on the dog's death to make an arrest for cruelty to animals.
But police observed two guns — a shotgun and a handgun — in the kitchen of Bunch's home. He is not allowed to possess firearms due to a prior robbery conviction, so officers arrested him, according to court documents.
Bunch did have a dog bite to his ankle and was treated at the hospital before being taken to jail.
Bunch will be arraigned in court today, May 22. We will update this report.
