U.S. to consider expanding airline laptop ban

Department of Homeland Security officials plan to meet with airline industry officials today to discuss security issues related to the electronics ban on flights, according to a Reuters report.

An airline ban on laptops on commercial aircraft could be expanded to include flights from some European countries to the United States.

Reuters reports expansion of the ban could impact U.S. carriers such as United Airlines, Delta Air Lines Inc and American Airlines Group.

DHS officials are weighing the advantages of expanding the ban against disruptions it could cause, according to a CBS News report.
