Worker at plate maker O.S. Kelly suffers arm injury

A male employee of manufacturer O.S. Kelly Corp. was taken to Miami Valley Hospital on Friday night after an industrial accident left him with a serious arm injury.

The 56-year-old’s left arm appeared to have gotten caught between a steel pallet and the roller system that was moving it, Springfield police Sgt. Doug Pergram said.

The man was taken to Springfield Regional Medical Center, then flown by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital.

His condition was not immediately available.

According to Clark County police and fire dispatch radio communication, the worker was “bleeding profusely” when the accident was reported at about 6:30 p.m.

Attempts to contact someone at O.S. Kelly were unsuccessful.

According to the Better Business Bureau and other sources, the company at 318 E. North St. manufactures and refurbishes piano plates for Steinway & Sons.
