Springfield Police Division officers were sent to Springfield Regional Medical Center to respond to a woman being treated for injuries who wanted to report a robbery at her High Street home at about 5 p.m. Saturday.
The victim told police she heard her dog barking aggressively and saw two men attempting to take her dog off of its leash. She said one man was standing on the dog’s leash, while another was trying to remove the clip.
As she approached the men, one told her the dog belonged to him. The victim told the man she had owned the dog for two years. She reached down to grab the dog, but was then allegedly punched in the face by one of the suspects. While on the ground, she believed she was also hit by a skateboard, the report says.

She told police one of the suspects then twisted her left wrist and stole her wedding band set off of her finger. The suspects then left the scene, she said.
The victim was treated for injuries at the hospital. No charges have been filed due to a lack of suspect information, the report says.
