The works of renowned local architect, Robert C. Gotwald, active from the 1890s through the early 1900s, can be seen throughout Springfield.

Three structures designed by Gotwald can be found in Snyder Park. The signature Romanesque entry arch, the mission-style boathouse, and the craftsman-style rest house, shown here in the winter time during the 1950s, are part of the scenic land.
