The event is free and open to all dogs and their humans. It’s sponsored by Northside Veterinary Clinic, Veterinary Services of Springfield and Littleton & Rue Pet Crematory.
Since taking over Wuffstock from the Red Cross, National Trail has worked to keep it fun and incorporate fresh ideas.
“It’s a real celebration, we’re so glad it’s continuing and people are enjoying it,” said Penny Dunbar, recreation specialist with National Trail.
Pet exercise will be emphasized with a new event — a dog walk on a marked trail and conducted as a fundraiser for a local 4-H program. The entry fee is a $5 donation, with registration beginning at 10 a.m. and the walk can be taken from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Not only does Wuffstock celebrate the fall season, but two other special times of the year — Halloween and Oktoberfest. One of the most popular and colorful activities is the canine costume contest at 1:15 p.m. with prizes available.
Memorable past costumes have paid tribute to Ohio State football, hippies (in the spirit of the event namesake) and even Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. No mention if the owner was dressed as Toto.
One of the more surprising choices was dressing a dog as another animal.
Other returning highlights include a pet agility demonstration and a demonstration by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office’s canine unit. There will also be food trucks, music and pet vendors.
“For people who would like to learn more about their pets, veterinarians will be set up too,” Dunbar said. “About anything you can think of for dogs will be here.”
