Supreme court ruling allows Springfield to turn red light cameras on

Overnight, morning thunderstorms in area

Showers have blossomed and some thunder and lightning has developed in a few spots as well, Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Jamie Simpson said.

Showers and thunder are possible again overnight and in the morning on Friday, Simpson said.

The afternoon Friday is expected to be dry with a high in the mid 50s.

On Saturday, "a small system will bring more showers to the area, but it also with have a punch of cold air with it," Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Rich Wirdzek said.

Snow is likely to mix in, however, Simpson said temperatures will be above freezing so chances are slim of anything sticking. "Precicpiation should taper off by the end of the day," he said.
