We have art that hangs on walls and sits on pedestals and performing arts, so why not art when it comes to beverages?

That’s where Leadership Clark County’s Art of the Cocktail fills that gap, or glass. This sixth annual version will be 5:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Seasons Bistro and Grill, 28 S. Limestone St.

Tying in with Fat Tuesday every year, this fundraiser for Leadership Clark County will include two handcrafted cocktails created by celebrity bartenders, beer or wine, heavy hors d’ oeuvres and dessert.

Fellowship, networking and fun are included in the $55 admission.

“The food and drinks are amazing and it’s a great chance for local people to mix together,” said Karen Ehman, Director of Leadership Clark County.

This year’s celebrity bartenders, all Leadership Clark County alumni, include Kelly Swanton, Michele Hemphill, Lindsey Dabe and Steve Lamb. Each will create their own signature drink unique to the event.

Ehman is happy to have all Leadership alumni as celebrity bartenders this year as it’s the first time that has happened at an Art of the Cocktail event.

One of the program’s goals is upon completion of the training to have the graduates become involved in service projects in the community.

Leadership Clark County is looking at various potential service projects as well as establishing a scholarship program.

“Leadership has an amazing board and it takes the effort of all of us,” Ehman said. “The focus is on the community and sending leaders into it.”

Those interested in attending Art of the Cocktail should note the event always sells out.
